BBQ
Friday, May 30th, 2008husband outta town
Sunday, May 18th, 2008APRIL WROTE: So Dave is outta town, in Denver actually. He’s eating $50 dinners every night and winning free ipods and stuff. Yeah, it’s a “business” trip. Must be nice! Actually, it’s good that he gets a break from the monotony and drama of school.
So me and the boys? What have we been up to? Isaac had his flag football championship on Saturday and then we went to a police-fest. They had hound dogs, drug dogs, the swat team, the bomb squad, helicopters, fire trucks, police horses and motorcycles and even a sheriff’s car converted into a real race car. The boys loved it.

Also while dave is gone I haven’t been cooking that’s for sure. Top Ramen and Cici’s Pizza are good for you. And staying up until 2 am every night is good for you too. (I’ve been reading Confessions of an Ugly Step Sister- great book! I finished last night in the wee hours).
When dave gets back we are then heading down the coast for a 5 day road trip. We’ll hit up Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miama, and all the keys. We’re all excited. Except for Isaac. He told me tonight he only wants to go to Orlando to stay in a hotel and swim and watch tv, Miami is boring and he doesn’t know how to speak Spanish. Interesting thoughts Isaac. Miami boring? I highly doubt that. And he can too speak Spanish, uno dos tres. I’ve taught him well. So I tried to talk him into seeing more than a hotel in Orlando but he wouldn’t budge. Now I guess we’ll just call every stop on our 8 hour drive “Orlando” and see if he falls for it.
A BIG Happy Mother’s Day to you Mother!
Sunday, May 11th, 2008O: Original. Aren’t we grateful for a mother who is like no other? Aren’t we grateful that our mother didn’t let us eat sugar cereals and watch alot of tv growing up or stay out too late at night? Aren’t we grateful our mother never worked outside of the home? When it really comes down to it, heck yeah, we’re grateful! It’s been so fun to have an earthy, artistic and athletic mother!
T: Talented. Though mom has never worked away from us, she has had more occupations than you could imagine to do in a lifetime: nurse, secretary, taxi driver, beautician, tailor, gardener, cook, tutor, teacher, handy-woman, psychologist, and on and on… And she’s done it all with perfection and grace.
H: Heritage. Wow, what a wonderful heritage she’s brought to our family. We couldn’t ask for a stronger more solid and noble heritage.
E: Eternally indebted. That is, we are eternally indebted to you Mom! We will never be able to repay you for all that you have done and sacrificed for us. You have always put us first in your life. Thank you a million times over! WE love you!!!!
R: Righteous. It is a wonderful thing to have a righteous mother. I am thankful for a mother who taught me about modesty, showed me by example the importance of prayer, gaining knowledge, loving life, the importance of scripture study and temple attendance. I am grateful for a mother who always attends church, does her visiting teaching, and magnifies her callings. There is nothing more beautiful than a righteous woman and mother!
So Mom, on this mother’s day, I want to thank you! I want to thank you for being the exceptional mother you have been and are to us. Thank you for your example, sacrifice and love. You are still my beautiful mother! XOXO! Have a wonderful day!!!!
Check her out in action:

Happy Mother’s Day Sisters!
Sunday, May 11th, 2008It’s so fun that my sisters are mothers too. There is nothing like being a mother. Nothing better (nothing harder). The joy it brings is the greatest for sure. Lizzy, I can’t wait for you to feel the love that comes from having your own child!
I just wanted to shout out Happy Mother’s Day to 3 more wonderful mothers on this special day. You are all great mothers, the best your kids could ever wish for!
Check out these bodacious mothers!
Dan and Company Check In, Still in Hawaii
Wednesday, May 7th, 2008I had a detailed post, but it got erased. I don’t feel like rewriting it. Sigh.
Still, we’re in Kauai right now and thinking it’s better than Utah. Um… yeah, it is.
In the mean time, Joshua’s made friends (He found a sea cucumber, called it his friend and proceeded to carry it around, talk to it and take care of it), caught crabs (no pinches!), we’ve gone on a submarine dive (that’s 126 feet BELOW the surface AND the Carthiginian “shipwreck”– remember the ship that was docked at Lahaina? They sunk it), eaten out (a lot) and visited Secret Beach… which used to be a nude beach. Nudism is all illegal and stuff now but, in the spirit of bygone nude hippies, we unleashed Joshua. Yes, he’s naked and yes, he loved it.
