The Power of Mustachio

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

So back in December we went on this crazy trip to Colorado. You know about that. What you didn’t know is that me and my nephews (and that’s all- Sis is the only chick in the Vinton side) found a sweet stash of fake mustachios that my Dad’s work pals had given him when he went from a man of beefy Burt Reynolds/Tom Selleck persuasion to a man of upper-lipped nudity.

Seeing as how an Uncle is supposed to instill mischief and disregard to personal property in impressionable young nephews (and son), we tore into that ’stache stash and came out winners and family icons.

In the mean time, my brother-in-law doused us with old-timey Photoshop awesomeness– where we went from burly to straight-up dangerous.

Finally some green air

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

And the ladies still stayed inside, ha!  We finally got some snow! WOOT WOOT!  Which means it was a green air day.  So new snow and green air means outside goodness for the little dude.  Here are a few pics since I can’t stop taking pictures.  (Lil sis is sick again…yes I turned out to be “one of those moms” that doesn’t constantly wipe and leaves green goo crawling…its too heartbreaking and her nose is so raw..its terrible I know…sorry for her sweet little goo crawling)

Slightly obsessed

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Ok so I might be slightly obsessed with taking pictures lately.  I wake up thinking and dreaming up new pics to take.  I drive down the street pointing out cool shots in my head!  I love it :)   Here are just a couple I took the other day…she is just so dang cute and DANG hard to photograph.  Everyone says they love 8 months because they sit up, smile, and can’t run away from you!  Well mine can and she wants to move and groove all the time and can’t stand that I’m always trying to snag a shot!

Her eyes are amazing..thanks MF for bringing that to the gene pool!

Chewing on the string from the blinds was the only thing to keep her in one place.

Lil sis turns bigger

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Well lil sis is officially 8 months today!!  I know I say it all the time but they really do grow so dang fast.  I can’t believe we are only 4 months away from celebrating her first birthday.

What she’s doing now:

*After a month of “trying” she is now crawling and cruising all over the house

*She can get to sitting position from laying down (I don’t remember Joshua doing this so its pretty impressive to me :) )

*She is saying “mu mu” and “da da” or “ah da”

*She squints her eyes and hmmmmms….I think its so cute…Dan thinks its Terrets (he worries enough for the both of us)

*She loves her big brother and he can always make her happy.

*After many failed attempts she is now making her mouth…yay for feeding herself snacks!

*Loves looking in the mirror (what girl doesn’t:))

*She is turning out to be a dream baby…finally!

*Thinks its funny to wake everyone up in the middle of the night

Her wishes:

*Someone would hold her most of the time

*Our bed would be her bed

*Mama would stop with the pictures already

*Her big brother would let her eat all his toys

*Her sippy cup would lift itself

I am loving this age so much she lights up our whole family…we love her SO MUCH.  I am so grateful I am able to be home with her and watch her grow.  Thanks MF for working and making it possible for me to stay home with our amazing kids!!

La Jolla, Coronado, Bedtime

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Day Two of “Escape from Winter Depression” has come and gone. We hit up La Jolla and its stinky harbor seal colony, waded through low tide searching for anemones, ate PB&J out of the car, found out National Monuments take only cash or check, wondered if people thought we were polygamists, bathed in a gorgeous Coronodo sunset, reaffirmed we’re calling the wrong climate “home” and wrapped it all up at the official eatery of “Escape From Winter Depression”: Rubio’s. Then everyone fell asleep.

Through it all the cousins played, the cars burned gas, and we stuffed our camera’s flash cards ’till they begged us to stop:
