3 out of 3 Vintons Agree: Warm is Better than Not
So, last week as you may/may not have known we (Mari-Catherine and I) took a 3-day getaway to Palm Desert California. If I ever had any doubts (I didn’t)… vacations are totally not overrated.
To wake up, go for a run in 80 degree weather, work out, have breakfast on the patio and then wonder what you’re going to do the rest of the day, all while knowing you won’t need a coat OR 4 wheel drive was like a Columbus Day miracle. It was shenanigans! The heat was actually turned up OUTSIDE.
We got out there on buddy passes, but Joshua wasn’t able to get a ticket (he hung out with his cousins Isaac, Eliza and Samuel). It was tough to be away from him (“Oh, look! Joshua would love that! Oh, he’d love the pool. Oh, I wish he could see this!”), but it was nice to get some Mama and Papa time for the first time in almost 3 years. When we got back, Joshua was nothing but Anaconda Squeezes and juicy kisses (and vice versa). It was like Extreme Home Makeover, without the Extreme Home or Makeover.
If you were wondering, I can assure you that warm weather and palm trees beat the tightie-whities off cold weather and snow 100% of the time, every time. We didn’t get many pics (we really just ran and lounged by the pool), but here’s a couple unexciting ones anyway.
